Hello Reader Your Point of View (POV) is what makes you unique and helps you stand out in a crowd of consultants. It is what makes you interesting so that potential clients ask to hear more. Your POV helps market you by showing how you are different from your competitors making it easier for people so say YES.
Your POV drives your methodology and services and explains how you solve your clients problems or how you assist them with an opportunity.
Your POV assist with writing the approach section of a proposal.
Your POV helps you build CONFIDENCE because you are comfortable in how you explain what you do. You relax. The more you relax, the easier it is to be yourself.
When added to your messaging, your message becomes all that more powerful because not only does your messaging explain your Why and What (your focus) and Who (ideal client), it explains your How - your Point of View. Let me clarify what is a POV. A POV is your HOW and one of the key elements of your Business Core. It helps you be seen as relevant, builds credibility and trust, and shows you understand them. Here is an example of what I mean by POV. Have you ever needed to visit a doctor due to a sports injury? The doctor orders x-rays and after reviewing them, informs you that surgery is required to fix a broken bone. You ask to hear more. You want to know what bone was fractured, the surgical process, and the recovery period. How do you feel when a doctor provides information but not enough and they are not very forthcoming when you ask questions? How do you feel if the doctor explains the x-rays, highlighting the fracture, and then walks you through the surgical process and recovery period in detail? As you ask questions, the doctor answers them. Who do you trust? Being able to articulate your POV helps you build trust. This week's Consulting Insight video further explains what is a Point of View with the help of examples and provides ideas to help you create your own Point of View. Market You with the Help of Your Consulting Point of View The 'chapters' are time stamped so that you can navigate to a particular topic. This Week's Question...
Do you have a Point of View? If so, how powerful is it? If so, when is the last time you took a hard look at it to determine if it needed any refinement.
